Old Post Round-Up
The funny thing about having a blog is that it takes a while to get going. Well it’s not really funny, but it’s something you don’t realize right away. You aren’t going to have comments and loyal readers during your first few weeks- there is no such thing as an “overnight success”. Since starting this blog in January, I’ve watched it grow to something much larger than I anticipated. Sure, I’m not internet-famous or anything, but I’ve gotten plenty of nice comments and e-mails from readers all over the country and had hometown friends tell me in person that they read (which is awesome!)
So after roughly 8 months of blogging, I’ve started to get some regular readers and followers- which is great. But what about all those posts I wrote during the first few weeks and months of blogging? Who read those? It seems like those first few months are crucial, but also go unnoticed. So with that being said- now that I have a few readers and people seem to care- I’m going to share with you some of my earlier posts from the past year that you probably never read. If a title catches your interest, feel free to leave a comment on the post and let me know what you think!

I love this idea! I can’t even count the number of posts I put up before people such as yourself (thank you by the way!) began to take notice. I remember the day I got my first comment. I was so. excited. Blogging is a lot of work and it takes tons of passion and drive to keep up. Luckily it’s very rewarding and the blogging community is AWESOME and makes it all worth it.
P.S. I just left the longest comment ever on your Social Life After College post. I could completely relate to it!
Thanks Jackie! Sometimes it feels like those first few months are wasted since barely anyone reads them. Thanks so much for leaving a comment, it means a lot to me.
this is such a good idea! I will definitely have to read through these 🙂
I just love your blog, Rachel! This is a great roundup and I enjoyed reading some of your previous posts. Keep up the awesome blogging, I always love the tidbits you right about life 🙂

Stephanie, thank you so much! You just made my day!
You are welcome!! Glad I could put a smile on your face. PS wow I just noticed my terrible spelling mistake, I meant to say write** not right.

Rachel, I am so glad you came up with this topic. The first months I felt so bad that nobody left a comment on my posts, as I am so passionately into fashion and love sharing them with other people. I do it now for 6 months and slowly get some recognition which feels so great,. After putting so much effort and work into the blog it really felt discouraging so I totally hear ya :-). You have a great blog and I am glad I came across it. It just takes some time till people know about it.
Good things take time, but I’m glad you feel the same way as me. I like to look at blogger’s old posts myself if I really like their blog, but that’s just me.
What a great idea! And instagram pet peeves, love it! And those hashtags #nofilter…too funny!

Thanks TJ!
I just read your post on why you couldn’t be Miss USA. First of all, I think you are gorgeous! Secondly, this is probably why there’s been other girls that don’t like you…I think they’re jealous!
Aw thank you so much Sharon! I’m not sure about the jealousy part, but you rock for making me feel better about it haha
I think about my old posts too…and how they never get any cred :/ I need to do a post like this!!
i cringe when i go back and read my first couple months of blog posts why because they are awful so in actuality i hardly go back and read them although it shows me what a long way i have been long in this world of blogging
that’s a good way to look at it Meg!
ooh i can’t wait to read through these… my early posts were awful and the layout…yikes! i have often wondered how to revisit old content that i’m particularly proud of. this is a great idea!
mine was pretty bad, too Ashley! Thanks!
I cringe looking back at my early posts. I haven’t been blogging for very long but I remember the first couple of weeks not having a clue what to do and not thinking anyone would read lol I’ll be sure to check out your posts! I
Thanks for stopping by my blog!! Yours is so cute, just started following. I think the same thing about my early posts, this was a good idea.
This is so cute! I always wonder if anyone ever looks at my older posts. My guess is no but it’s cute that you’re linking your back up!
I’ve thought that same thing before, it seemed like for 2 months the only people looking at my blog were my bff, mom & an aunt. This is a really fun idea!!
