Blogger Secret Santa

I’m excited to announce the launch of a special blogging community project I’ve been working on. I’d like to introduce to you Blogging Secret Santa! Yes, this is probably exactly what you think it is- the anonymous gift-giving fun of Secret Santa, but for the blogging community.

How does it work? To be a part of Blogging Secret Santa, you must fill out the form below (scroll down) by November 20, 2012. No submissions after this date will be considered. After I look over all the submissions, I will be sending out e-mails to everyone with the information of which blogger they will be buying a gift for on or before November 25. The pairings will be randomly chosen. In typical Secret Santa fashion, you are not to tell anyone who you are buying for or give hints- it’s all a surprise! From there on, you have 3 weeks maximum to find and purchase a gift. This gives you enough time to order something online if you can’t make it to a store. All packages must be shipped and postmarked to their blogging buddy by December 14 at the latest in order to receive them on time with the holiday rush. I advise you to mail it out earlier if you can just in case.

What are the rules? Each blogger has a $10-15 limit for spending. I figured this was a reasonable amount for those of us on budgets- especially for buying a gift for a random person we don’t even know! You are free to spend more money if you please- and take into consideration your shipping costs. This contest is valid to US residents only.

How will I know what to get them? The form you fill out when you sign up asks a few questions so you can get to know your blogger buddy better. It is up to you to “stalk” their blog, twitter, etc. to find out what they like and what they are interested in- that’s the fun of it! If you want to make it easy for your Secret Santa, make a “Christmas Wishlist’s” post on your blog.

Other notes: I am not responsible for anything that gets lost in the mail, people who back out of the project, etc. If there is an issue, you can e-mail me and I will try to accommodate you the best that I can. You can choose to open your gift as soon as you receive it or wait until Christmas.
