My All-Time Favorite Beauty Products

Over the past few years of wearing makeup, I’ve tried hundreds of products. In fact, if I think about how often I go through a tube of mascara, the costs really add up. While I do buy mostly drugstore products, I splurge every now and then on a higher-end brand. Through lots of trial and error, I’ve found a bunch of products that simply don’t work- and a few that do. I thought I’d share with you a few of my favorite beauty products.

1. Urban Decay Primer Potion– This is by far the best beauty product out there, in my opinion. If you don’t wear eye shadow, you may not understand the amazingness of this product. For my daily beauty routine, especially at work, I usually skip the eye shadow. However, some days I put on a neutral shade. When I go out at night, go to an event, or are taking photos, I like to experiment with eye shadow shades, and that’s where the primer comes into play. All I do is swipe a little of this on and blend on my lids a few minutes before applying my eye shadow. It keeps the shadow on all day- seriously. It also makes eye shadow that isn’t very pigmented appear pigmented- which is great. I’ve found that it also keeps my eyeliner on pretty well. Although it does cost a pretty penny, it lasts for a long time and is totally worth it.

2. C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve– I’ve tried so many lip glosses, balms and chapsticks over the years and this is my favorite to-date. I had heard everyone rave about it for a while, and finally picked some up last fall. I’m still using the same little tin and it’s been over a year, so you definitely get your money’s worth. My favorite part about this product is the smell- it’s hard to describe how beautiful it smells. It is a clear and shiny salve that nourishes your lips, stays on for a good amount of time, and doesn’t produce those yucky white globs on the sides of your mouth like some chapsticks do.

3. Covergirl Professional Natural Lash Mascara– I used to use this as my mascara throughout junior high and most of high school. It didn’t do that much for my looks sadly, it just coated them and made them shiny. What I really use this clear mascara/brow gel for is to tame my eyebrows. After applying powder or wax, I brush them up and use this to keep them in place. It also comes in handy for those baby-hair flyaways around your hairline. I just swipe them once with this gel and they’re set for the day.
