5 Things You [Probably] Don’t Know About Me
My blogging bud Ashley tagged me in the “5 Things” meme that’s going around. Essentially you post 5 things that most people reading your blog wouldn’t know about you. I find this hard since I share basically everything on here and I’m not that interesting, but here we go!
1. I was Prom Queen of my high school back in 2006. I’ve said it on here before, but I like to brag about it. I mean, it’s a pretty cool accomplishment to have your classmates vote for you and to get to wear the cheap crown for the entire night. It actually really means a lot to me to be liked that much and I will hold onto it forever. Don’t judge me.
2. I have never broken a bone. I blame this on the fact that I didn’t play that many sports growing up and that I’m a girl, but still. I wouldn’t mind breaking my nose if it meant I got a free nose job out of it, but other than that I’d like to keep this fact true for the rest of my life to avoid the pain and hospital bill. This photo is of me attempting to hit a pinata. This could have resulted in broken bones- probably on other people, though.
3. I interned for a few radio stations back in college. This meant I got to drive around the station vehicles, talk on the radio (I read the weather, talked about a college classmate who gave birth in the dorm’s bathroom and did some joke segments), and help out at events. It was pretty fun. This photo is from when we had to visit a bike shop to get them to sign a petition for a radio event we were having. My friend Randi decided to buy something at the bike shop, aka this skull motorcycle bandana. I think I look bad-ass, right?
4. I was a bleach blonde with ringlets as a toddler and child. As I got older, my hair got darker to a dirty blonde and now it’s a light brown. This photo is of me and my hottie little brother.
5. My high school was next to a farm. This meant that sometimes the cows got loose and would run onto our playground as we all watched from the windows inside our classrooms. From time to time on my way to work (I drive past my high school to get to my office), I have to stop because the cows or ducks are crossing the road. Gotta love the country life! This photo is of me speaking at my high school graduation. It’s the only photo I had that was remotely related to this fact.
These posts are so fun. I love learning random facts about people. I bet interning at a radio station was a blast. I’d just be worried that they’d make me do something REALLY stupid, haha.
Oh well they did sometimes! haha nothing TOO embarrassing!
We’re on the same page sharing 5 things today 🙂 How funny that your school had occasiaonal cow visitors!
I loved reading yours!
I love these posts! We’re the same for 1 and 2 – people always think its weird that I’ve never broken a bone! Interning at a radio station sounds more fun than any of my internships!
We’re not weird, just safer! 🙂
Great list! I love the picture of you as a toddler.
thanks for tagging me!
Haha, such a fun post! I can’t stop laughing about the cows at your high school.
haha I’m glad!
I think it’s awesome that you were prom queen! I too have never broken a bone and I’m really hoping it stays that way 🙂
same! thanks!
I loved reading this! It’s awesome that you won prom queen, that’s always fun and I can relate to you on the bone part, I’ve never broken a bone as well.
Thanks so much!
That’s so exciting that you were prom queen! I just found this out from the Everygirl article! Anyway, that’s super cool… our high school didn’t do prom king/queen, just homecoming. AND haha … I love that your school was next to a farm and cows would sometimes get loose!
Aw shucks no prom queen!?
Yay for prom queen! You and your brother were so cute!
Thanks!
Love this post! I’ve never broken a bone either 🙂
haha thanks! let’s keep it that way, right?
Haha these are so fun! I love learning more about you. That’s crazy about your school being overrun with farm animals and that’s awesome that you were prom queen!
Thanks!
Love the fun facts! My high school was actually next to an apple orchard so I understand the country teen year life lol. Thanks for sharing!
Oh awesome! We have apple trees in my backyard 🙂
Great post! Love the photos and fun facts! Hugs from Cali!
How fun that you were prom queen! And my hair was the same way when I was younger. It was blonde but gradually got darker and darker until it became brown in my twenties.
Isn’t it funny how that happens?
It is! At first I resisted, but I grew to really love having darker hair!
Awesome that you were Prom queen and the HS next to the farm made me laugh.
haha thanks!
I’ve never broken a bone, either! Came close to a few broken toes during my ballet days, but I’m pretty resilient. Cute list!
I didn’t know you did ballet- fun fact!
I had blonde hair as a kid too! Your curls were really cute, did all of your curl go away too?
I’m more wavy now (not as curly!)
haha!! This was too fun to learn more about you! I love these kind of posts:)
Thanks Amy!
Lol I love the story about cows running loose. I thought our town was farm-like, turns out I was wrong! Nothing wrong with being proud you were prom queen! 🙂
haha thanks!
How cute are you?! I love the prom photo! Work that crown, girl. 🙂
aw thank you!
Look at that hair!!! I was a redhead when I was little! That’s so cool that you were prom queen too AND that your high school was next to a farm. I would have loved that!
Isn’t it funny how our hair changes so much!?
Love those cute little ringlets on you! And yes..I would totally brag about being prom queen, too. 🙂
aw thanks Ashley!
I enjoyed your facts! Your curly blonde hair was adorable!
I miss it! haha
#5 Made me smile. Cute post!
Thank you 🙂
The last part of number two made me laugh SO HARD! Probably because I have the same sentiment. Truly loved getting to know you more with these facts.
haha I’m so glad you laughed!
I’ve also never broken a bone and I’ve never gotten stitches either. And I would have bragged about being prom queen too, insted I was voted most quiet lol.
Loved these facts Rachel! I love that you have never broken a bone, I haven’t either. I attribute these to similar facts such as “being a girl” lol.
haha exactly!
So fun to learn more about you! I’ve never broken a bone either… knock on wood. That photo of you with the ringlets is so cute!
aw thanks Stephanie!
I haven’t ever broken a bone either and I hope I never do! (finding some wood t knock on now)
haha I will knock on wood for you!
This is amazing and I love the color of your prom dress!
aw thank you!
Such a pretty prom queen, love these tidbits!
Thanks Annie 🙂
LOL! I love this post! I’ve never broken a bone either, but I was no where close to prom queen. The farm thing made me giggle (however, my high school was not far from a farm so I understand!)
haha I’m glad you can relate!
Girl, you would be prom queen! Love it, you looked gorgeous at prom (I was the queen of awkward, still am?). Nice to get ot know a little more about you 🙂
aw thanks Maya- you are NOT the Queen of Awkward haha you make me laugh!
someone in your dorm really gave birth in the bathroom?!?! omg.
So nice to get to know you a lil better Rachel. Nose job? I could slap you for saying this. You are beautiful as god created you, nose including every other body part of you 🙂
haha! Thanks so much 🙂
I’ve never broken a bone either! (knock on wood!)
