5 Things You [Probably] Don’t Know About Me

My blogging bud Ashley tagged me in the “5 Things” meme that’s going around. Essentially you post 5 things that most people reading your blog wouldn’t know about you. I find this hard since I share basically everything on here and I’m not that interesting, but here we go!

promhighschool

1. I was Prom Queen of my high school back in 2006. I’ve said it on here before, but I like to brag about it. I mean, it’s a pretty cool accomplishment to have your classmates vote for you and to get to wear the cheap crown for the entire night. It actually really means a lot to me to be liked that much and I will hold onto it forever. Don’t judge me.

2. I have never broken a bone. I blame this on the fact that I didn’t play that many sports growing up and that I’m a girl, but still. I wouldn’t mind breaking my nose if it meant I got a free nose job out of it, but other than that I’d like to keep this fact true for the rest of my life to avoid the pain and hospital bill. This photo is of me attempting to hit a pinata. This could have resulted in broken bones- probably on other people, though.

3. I interned for a few radio stations back in college. This meant I got to drive around the station vehicles, talk on the radio (I read the weather, talked about a college classmate who gave birth in the dorm’s bathroom and did some joke segments), and help out at events. It was pretty fun. This photo is from when we had to visit a bike shop to get them to sign a petition for a radio event we were having. My friend Randi decided to buy something at the bike shop, aka this skull motorcycle bandana. I think I look bad-ass, right?

4. I was a bleach blonde with ringlets as a toddler and child. As I got older, my hair got darker to a dirty blonde and now it’s a light brown. This photo is of me and my hottie little brother.

5. My high school was next to a farm. This meant that sometimes the cows got loose and would run onto our playground as we all watched from the windows inside our classrooms. From time to time on my way to work (I drive past my high school to get to my office), I have to stop because the cows or ducks are crossing the road. Gotta love the country life! This photo is of me speaking at my high school graduation. It’s the only photo I had  that was remotely related to this fact.

  1. These posts are so fun. I love learning random facts about people. I bet interning at a radio station was a blast. I’d just be worried that they’d make me do something REALLY stupid, haha.

  2. I love these posts! We’re the same for 1 and 2 – people always think its weird that I’ve never broken a bone! Interning at a radio station sounds more fun than any of my internships!

  3. I think it’s awesome that you were prom queen! I too have never broken a bone and I’m really hoping it stays that way 🙂

  4. That’s so exciting that you were prom queen! I just found this out from the Everygirl article! Anyway, that’s super cool… our high school didn’t do prom king/queen, just homecoming. AND haha … I love that your school was next to a farm and cows would sometimes get loose!

  5. Love the fun facts! My high school was actually next to an apple orchard so I understand the country teen year life lol. Thanks for sharing!

  6. I’ve never broken a bone, either! Came close to a few broken toes during my ballet days, but I’m pretty resilient. Cute list!

  7. Lol I love the story about cows running loose. I thought our town was farm-like, turns out I was wrong! Nothing wrong with being proud you were prom queen! 🙂

  8. Look at that hair!!! I was a redhead when I was little! That’s so cool that you were prom queen too AND that your high school was next to a farm. I would have loved that!

  9. Love those cute little ringlets on you! And yes..I would totally brag about being prom queen, too. 🙂

  10. The last part of number two made me laugh SO HARD! Probably because I have the same sentiment. Truly loved getting to know you more with these facts.

  11. I’ve also never broken a bone and I’ve never gotten stitches either. And I would have bragged about being prom queen too, insted I was voted most quiet lol.

  12. LOL! I love this post! I’ve never broken a bone either, but I was no where close to prom queen. The farm thing made me giggle (however, my high school was not far from a farm so I understand!)

  13. So nice to get to know you a lil better Rachel. Nose job? I could slap you for saying this. You are beautiful as god created you, nose including every other body part of you 🙂
