Garnier BB Cream Review

garnier bb cream

With all the buzz around BB creams the past year, I obviously had to try a few out for myself. I’ve been using the Garnier BB Cream for months now and figured I’d write a review of it. Since I have fairly good skin, I didn’t feel the need to splurge on an expensive version of BB cream. Out of all the drugstore choices, I knew Garnier was the first (I believe?) to come out with one, so that was the one I tried.

I picked up the light/medium shade in the regular version (they now make separate creams for oily skin). The squeeze bottle is easy to use and the formula is much thinner and creamier than most foundations. It goes on easily and blends nicely with just my fingers. A thin coat gives you enough coverage, but I’d suggest applying a little more if you need it or want to look darker. I’ve found that it covers any redness or imperfections very well, and even minimizes my pores a bit. The finish is a bit shiny, but in a hydrating way. If you have oily skin, it may look too greasy on you, but for regular skin, it looks great.

I think this will be my new go-to during summer months when my skin is a few shades darker and I don’t want to load on foundation. This BB cream is easy to apply and stays on all day long. I raved about it so much, my Mom even bought some for herself, too!

  1. Loved watching your video review! I’ve never tried a BB Cream before, but summer might be a good time since I really scale back my makeup routine!

  2. I actually swear by BBcream for a base/primer for my makeup. I agree about the drugstore versions being just as good as expensive ones. I’ve tried the DIOR one but I feel like my loreal one does just as good of a job. I think Garnier should be my next buy. Have a nice weekend Rachel!

  3. BB creams are all the rage – and rightly so! I never thought I would use one as I have acne scars and need concealer and heavy foundation for coverage but I recently got Revlon BB cream and with my concealer it works like a charm! Great review! Hope you are having a wonderful day!

  4. Thanks for reviewing this. This is one of those products that I’ve picked up and considered buying for the past few months but wasn’t sure if I’d like it. I just got a $2 off coupon in the mail so I’m going to do it!

  5. I use this daily! I’m almost out and I think I’ll try the oil free version next since it tends to get a bit oily for me by the end of the day. Have a great weekend 🙂

  6. Your skin always looks SO beautiful! I love to hear that you use a drugstore brand to get that glow! I use an expensive BB and I hate spending so much. I will have to try this one!

  7. I scooped up Maybelline BB cream and I absolutely love it! It’s perfect for summer months or when you don’t want to wear a lot of makeup (which is basically every day for me). I left my tube at a friend’s house a few weeks ago and I haven’t been able to find my good ol’ Maybelline, so maybe I will try out Garnier’s version.

  8. BB creams are my favorite for summer! I love that it keeps my face matte, despite the heat. Since the Garnier one comes in more than one shade, I think I will give it a try before repurchasing my usual from Smashbox.

  9. I tried out this Garnier BB cream when it first came out, but I felt like the coverage was too heavy and oily. I have been using Revlon’s Photo Ready BB Cream for the past couple months and I LOVE it. Sheer coverage, buildable, and creamy but not oily – give it a try! 😉

  10. I love reading your beauty reviews, they’re always so helpful! It’s even better when I get to see your pretty face in a video! Have a great weekend Rachel!

  11. I keep hearing great things about Garnier BB cream and it’s nice that it’s so affordable. Great video! Hope you have a fabulous weekend.:)

  12. You are too cute! That’s the first video I watched of yours and you’re adorable!! I never really get to try any new products bc my face is sooooo sensitive!! It’s pretty much Clinique or nothing! Blah. Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend chickadee!

  13. Cute video! I tried this recently as well. It feels light on my skin, but I need a little more coverage than it provides. If you have decent skin to begin with then this is perfect!
