Winter Coat Trends

winter coat trends

Winter coats- you can’t live with ’em, you can’t live without ’em. Wait a minute- that phrase doesn’t really work well, does it? Either way, the cold winter weather calls for heavy coats that will get the job done. For me personally, finding winter coats that keep me warm, look stylish, are in my price range and don’t make me look like a marshmallow can be hard.

Pale pink coats

The girliest of girly-girls will love that pale pink is a hot color for winter outerwear. A pale pink, also sometimes referred to as blush, is almost a neutral, so it will mix and match with a variety of other colors in your wardrobe. I particularly like the look of pale pink and gray. Whoever said you can’t wear pastels in winter was clearly wrong.

bell shaped coats

Bell-shaped coats

I’m a big fan of the bell-shaped coats for fall and winter, mainly because they accentuate my thin waist and add curves to my bottom half. Win-win! I love how girly they are, too. You may also see this type of coat referred to as “fit and flare” coats. How Kim Kardashian of them.

military coats

Vince Camuto Wool Blend Military Peacoat  /  Old Navy Wool Blend Military Style Coat  /  GUESS Faux-Fur Military Coat

Military coats

Whether they are the distinct army green or just have military details like buttons or patches, these coats are on-trend. I personally love the vintage feel of the ones above. If you think the military style is too rugged for you, add some feminine accessories like a fun scarf or pink lipstick.

faux fur coats

ASOS Longline Faux Fur Coat  /  Dorothy Perkins Grey Bling Button Faux Fur Coat  /  Oasis ’60s Faux Fur Coat

Faux fur coats

The key here is “faux”, since I don’t really want to be walking around with a real rabbit on my chest (but that’s just me). Faux fur coats just look and feel luxurious to me, even if they are under $100 (props to you if you can find one that cheap!)
