Lip Scrubs & Exfoliators

Open up any national women’s magazine right now and you’re likely to see an article on how to prevent or treat chapped lips. Clearly it’s a common problem if they’re all writing about it, right? Slathering on various lip balms can only do so much- you really need to get down to the surface to eliminate the problem. This is where lip scrubs and exfoliators come into play. Before putting on your favorite lip balm (my go-to is Aquaphor– can’t live without it), take to your lips with one of these products below. You can use your fingers, an old toothbrush, a washcloth or whatever works best.

Best Smelling Lip Exfoliator

The Sparkling Pink Grapefruit Lip Scrub by sara happ takes the cake. You’ll have to try your hardest not to lick your lips after you’ve applied it. She has a bunch of other flavors, too, if grapefruit isn’t your thing.

Best Deal for a Lip Exfoliator

At just $3 a pop, the e.l.f. Studio Lip Exfoliator gets the job done. You apply it like you would a regular lipstick, which makes it easy-to-use. I’ve had mine for a few months now and it lasts forever. Plus, the vanilla smell doesn’t hurt, either.

Coolest Lip Exfoliator

I have to admit I haven’t personally tried the LUSH Popcorn Lip Scrub, but I’m so curious as to how it smells/tastes. They just opened a new LUSH store at an outlet near me, so you know I’ll be stopping in soon to pick up a few new products to try out. Has anyone tried this yet?

Best Multi-Use Lip Exfoliator

The jane iredale ‘Sugar & Butter’ Lip Exfoliator & Plumper can be used for a variety of things. On one end, you have an all-natural exfoliator to prep your lips for your favorite lipstick. On the other hand you have a lip plumper to give your lips a fuller appearance.

Cutest Lip Exfoliator Name

The Bliss Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub gets my vote for the cutest name- Fabulips! Plus, Bliss products are known for being awesome, so this is a must on any beauty lovers list.

Best Hydrating Lip Exfoliator

Although this post is about exfoliators and scrubs, a product that does that and nourishes and hydrates is even better. The Tarte Maracuja Lip Exfoliant features unique and natural ingredients to rid your lips of dead skin while replacing moisture at the same time. Win-win.

Lip Exfoliator with the Coolest Ingredients

The Bite Beauty Whipped Cherry Lip Scrub is formulated without sulfates and parabens, unlike many drugstore products. With ingredients such as Trans-Resveratrol (which helps reduce wrinkles), Vitamin C, rice bran (huh?) and natural cherry fruit flavor, you’ll see why this scrub won my award.
