Mod Makeup Tutorial with Rimmel

After a weekend afternoon perusing Pinterest, I found myself pinning a lot of looks that had a theme in common: mod. If you’re not familiar with the classic mod look, just look at 60’s supermodel Twiggy. Her exaggerated lower lashes, white lids and pink lips are just the beginning of it. For some modern-day mod inspiration, here are a few looks to recreate.
To recreate the mod makeup look from the inspiration above, I used two new beauty products I purchased at Walmart- Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara & Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation. To see how I got the Mod look above, follow the easy steps below.
FACE– I started off by applying my new Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation in “Ivory”. Since I’m pretty pale, I chose the second-lightest shade. The foundation goes on easily and in my opinion is best applied with your fingertips. Cover up any other areas with a light concealer. Finish off the look with a light pink blush to the apples of your cheeks for a flushed look.
EYES– Mod makeup is all about drama. I started off by applying a white eyeshadow to my lids. Then go over a make a thick cat eye with a jet black liner, like the Rimmel London Scandal Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner. Add drama to the bottom lashes (a la Twiggy) by drawing on chubby individual lashes on your lower lashline. Curl lashes and apply a few coats of Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara. I’m always on the hunt for the best cheap mascara, and this may be a new favorite.
LIPS– Mod lips are a light pink or nude shade. Nude lipstick washes my ghostly complexion out, so I opted for the light pink instead. Try the Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in “Pink Chic”.
