Beachy Twist Hair Tutorial

For the past few weeks, I’ve been participating in the Frizz Ease #downfor30 challenge. This challenge asks women to wear their hair down for 30 days straight with the help of your favorite Frizz-Ease products. I have a lot of hair, and it’s naturally wavy, long and sometimes unruly. So to say that this would be a “challenge” is very true, Luckily I’ve found a few miracle products and cute styles that make this challenge easier. I’m sharing a simple beachy waves with a twist tutorial below.

frizz ease curl spray

Start off with wet/damp hair. You can begin this tutorial straight out of the shower (just comb your hair) or refresh day-old hair with a few heavy spritzes from a water bottle with a nozzle. Then apply your FRIZZ EASE® Dream Curls® Daily Styling Spray all over your hair. This lightweight spray not only eliminates frizz, but also enhances your hair’s natural wave without any stickiness.

how to get natural waves

Next, gently “scrunch” chunks of your hair to enhance your hair’s natural wave/curl. For beachy waves, I find this technique to work perfectly. I start off at my ends and work my way up. Try to be gentle as mentioned previously to prevent frizz. Then you get to have fun while you let your hair air dry (which I do 9 out of 10 times), or you can use a blow dryer with a diffuser attachment to lightly dry your hair.

front hair twist

Next, grab a 1-2 inch wide piece of hair from the front. If you have side bangs or shorter layers in the front, use this chunk of hair.

Starting closest to your hair’s part, begin twisting and rolling the chunk you just gathered, gathering some strands from underneath as you go. This will give a cool, laid-back twist to the front piece of your hair (and get those pesky bangs or layers out of your face!) After a few inches of twisting, pin with a bobby pin or two and you’re done!

Another bonus of being a part of the #downfor30 challenge is the chance to win a NYC adventure, including round-trip airfare for 2, $750 cash, a gorgeous John Frieda makeover, and much more! Just upload a photo of you wearing your hair down in a fun style to Instagram and tag each post with the hashtag #downfor30 and #sweeps. You can post up to once each day for additional chances to win.

Frizz-Ease believes that when you pull your hair back, you also pull yourself back. So we’re challenging women everywhere to take on the world hair-first and wear their hair #downfor30 days straight with the help their favorite Frizz-Ease products. Join the movement at NeverPullBack.com.
