Aerie Bra Fitting Guide
Since most of my readers are female, you girls can relate to the hassle that is buying bras. From finding one that actually fits in the band and cup to purchasing a few without going over your budget, it’s not always an easy task. Not to mention how annoying it is to try them on in the store with the pushy saleswoman shoving them down your throat, mixed with the not-so-flattering lighting of the dressing rooms. Need I say more?
Luckily, Aerie makes this entire process as easy and fun as can be. I’ve been a longtime wearer of Aerie products, especially their bras. I’m a huge fan because they carry a wide variety of sizes. My particular bra size (32B, thank you very much) is hard to find. I find that most retail stores don’t carry small band sizes like 30 or 32, and if they do it’s only in AA cups, which I wore when I was 14. Aerie also has great prices and constant sales, so I rarely pay full price for anything. Their selection of bras encompasses neutral and practical, but also cute and colorful. Ok, so enough about me gushing about their bras. Let’s talk about their Bra Fitting Guide.
This guide is the first to my knowledge to actually show photos of women who have the same bra size as you. I don’t know about you, but seeing Victoria’s Secret models wearing a bra I’m thinking about buying is sort of silly. I know my boobs don’t look like that, and won’t look like that in that same bra, so it’s sort of misleading. Aerie uses real girls and real models (that haven’t been retouched!) to show you what each style of their bras would look like on a girl of your size. You can shop by your cup size, by which type of bra you’re looking for (lightly padded, strapless, etc.) or check out their fit tips and “How to Measure” graphic, which is super simple.
In my opinion, buying bras online is much easier, especially at Aerie. I ordered my bras based on their descriptions, fit guide and photos, and then tried them on in the comfort of my own home and mirror. This way, I can pair them with certain shirts and dresses to make sure they look good and don’t show through a white tee, I can jump up and down and make sure my girls don’t fall out, etc. It’s amazing. And the best part is that they offer free shipping and free returns, so if the bras you ordered don’t fit, there’s nothing to worry about- you can just order a size up or try a different style. I ended up purchasing a strapless bra (for summer tank tops and strapless sundresses) called the Maddie and then one of my long-time favorites, the Jaclyn in another color. Because when you find a bra that works, you buy multiples, am I right?
If you’re a fan of Aerie and their bra fit guide or unretouched photo campaign, why not participate on Instagram and Twitter? Upload a photo of yourself wearing or holding your favorite Aerie product (they have the cutest pajamas) with the hashtag #aeriereal and you could appear on the Aerie website!
I received an Aerie gift card as part of my relationship with the Quality Blue Community. All opinions expressed are my own.
