It’s time for another check in on my #downfor30 challenge (read part 1 from last week here), where I’ve been wearing my hair down for 30 days straight with the help of Frizz Ease products. This week I’m bringing you an updated take on how to wear straight hair. My hair is natural wavy, so in order for me to straighten it, it takes a few steps. Here’s my easy tutorial for a straight, over-the-shoulder hairstyle.
First, wash your hair. Then apply Frizz Ease® 3-Day Straight™ Flat Iron Spray all over hair. I have a lot of long hair, so I sprayed a generous amount all over (about 12 sprays in total). I was so excited to try this product since it takes forever to style my hair (again, because there is just so much of it!), and this product helps your straight locks to last longer.
Next, it’s time to blow dry your hair. The flat iron spray is a special heat-activated formula, so heat is key here. The spray wraps each strand to seal in longer-lasting straightness without weighing hair down. It also protects against heat damage and blocks frizz. I blow dry all over to start and then go in and divide my hair into sections to blow dry smaller chunks one-by-one.
After your hair is completely dry, you can choose to straighten it or leave it be. I ended up going over a few strands lightly with my flat iron, but if your hair blow dries stick straight, you can skip this step. I like a little body and bend to my hair, so I never fry it or over-straighten it. Make a deep side part and gather hair over your shoulder. Using a bobby pin or two, secure the hair at the nape of your neck so the gathered hair stays over your shoulder.
Have you been wearing your hair down as part of the #downfor30 challenge? If not, now is your chance! Upload a photo of your favorite “wear down” hairstyle (no buns or ponies, ladies!), to Instagram with the tag #downfor30 and #sweeps to be entered to win a NYC adventure, which includes a year of Frizz Ease products, 4 nights and the W Hotel in Times Square, dinner, and much more.
Frizz-Ease believes that when you pull your hair back, you also pull yourself back. So we’re challenging women everywhere to take on the world hair-first and wear their hair #downfor30 days straight with the help their favorite Frizz-Ease products. Join the movement at NeverPullBack.com.

When it comes to hair products, I’m always up for trying something new. I’ve found the perfect gel to make my waves frizz-free and have a curling iron that holds my curls like no other, but something I’m always searching for is the ideal product to help mend split ends and make my hair stronger….
I know that I can complain about my hair a lot (although doesn’t everyone do that?), but one thing I’ve learned to love and embrace is my natural hair. My out-of-the-shower, air dried hair is beachy waves. Sure, it takes a little product, a LOT of time to dry and some frizz maintenance to…
I’m all about trying new hair products, which is starting to become a problem. No, it’s not lowering my bank account (most are free samples or trial-size products), but I am running out of room in my “hair box”. My hair box is actually a Rubbermaid Bento Storage Box from Target. I love the different…
It seems like every month when I open my Allure magazine, there’s a feature on a new beauty or skincare ingredient that’s all the rage. And maybe I’m a few months behind, but I’ve been noticing prickly pear as an ingredient in everything from facial oils to haircare. Below I’ve rounded up some of the…

Your hair always look so well trimmed and healthy. Love it!
This sounds silly but I think that would be the hardest challenge ever for me. I usually start out with it down but then after an hour or so it goes up. Your hair looks so sleek and shiny!
