It’s time for another check in on my #downfor30 challenge (read part 1 from last week here), where I’ve been wearing my hair down for 30 days straight with the help of Frizz Ease products. This week I’m bringing you an updated take on how to wear straight hair. My hair is natural wavy, so in order for me to straighten it, it takes a few steps. Here’s my easy tutorial for a straight, over-the-shoulder hairstyle.
First, wash your hair. Then apply Frizz Ease® 3-Day Straight™ Flat Iron Spray all over hair. I have a lot of long hair, so I sprayed a generous amount all over (about 12 sprays in total). I was so excited to try this product since it takes forever to style my hair (again, because there is just so much of it!), and this product helps your straight locks to last longer.
Next, it’s time to blow dry your hair. The flat iron spray is a special heat-activated formula, so heat is key here. The spray wraps each strand to seal in longer-lasting straightness without weighing hair down. It also protects against heat damage and blocks frizz. I blow dry all over to start and then go in and divide my hair into sections to blow dry smaller chunks one-by-one.
After your hair is completely dry, you can choose to straighten it or leave it be. I ended up going over a few strands lightly with my flat iron, but if your hair blow dries stick straight, you can skip this step. I like a little body and bend to my hair, so I never fry it or over-straighten it. Make a deep side part and gather hair over your shoulder. Using a bobby pin or two, secure the hair at the nape of your neck so the gathered hair stays over your shoulder.
Have you been wearing your hair down as part of the #downfor30 challenge? If not, now is your chance! Upload a photo of your favorite “wear down” hairstyle (no buns or ponies, ladies!), to Instagram with the tag #downfor30 and #sweeps to be entered to win a NYC adventure, which includes a year of Frizz Ease products, 4 nights and the W Hotel in Times Square, dinner, and much more.
Frizz-Ease believes that when you pull your hair back, you also pull yourself back. So we’re challenging women everywhere to take on the world hair-first and wear their hair #downfor30 days straight with the help their favorite Frizz-Ease products. Join the movement at NeverPullBack.com.

I’ve always been a firm believer that your makeup, skincare and hair routine should switch with the seasons. You won’t see me running out and spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora just because the sun is out a little more (I wish!), but I do rotate products in and out based on the change in…
One of the hair trends that I’d love to try someday is colorful dip-dyed ends. I toyed around with dip-dye in the fall of 2011 when I ombre’d my own hair. The end result was blonde ends which gradually got darker as you went up to my light brown roots. I really liked the…
If you’re like me, you tend to use wear less makeup in the summer. But that doesn’t mean I give up completely on my routine — I just switch from my winter/spring products to ones that have words like “waterproof” or phrases like “frizz elimination” on the bottle. We’re right in the heat of summer…
As part of my summer wedding series, I’ve picked out a few of my favorite hairstyles to wear for an upcoming wedding. These hairstyles would look great on the bride, a bridesmaid, or even wedding guests. P.S. It’s a little weird that all the hairstyles I liked were on a blonde girl — it wasn’t…
Whether you call them baby hairs, wispies, or cowlicks, those thin and short hairs that surround your forehead or part line are a pain the butt. For those of you who are lucky enough to not have them, make sure you thank the genetics God each and every night. For those of you who are…
For the past few weeks, I’ve been participating in the Frizz Ease #downfor30 challenge. This challenge asks women to wear their hair down for 30 days straight with the help of your favorite Frizz-Ease products. I have a lot of hair, and it’s naturally wavy, long and sometimes unruly. So to say that this would…

Your hair always look so well trimmed and healthy. Love it!
This sounds silly but I think that would be the hardest challenge ever for me. I usually start out with it down but then after an hour or so it goes up. Your hair looks so sleek and shiny!
