Save or Splurge: Michael Kors Spring 2015
One of my favorite looks from the Spring 2015 runways was the above one from Michael Kors. I remember seeing it as an ad in a magazine a few months back and thinking, “Wow, that skirt is beautiful. If only it wasn’t thousands of dollars.” The look is so cheerful and spring-y (that’s the entire point of a spring collection, am I right?), and is very reminiscent of the 1950’s fashion. Plus, yellow is my favorite color, and although I can’t always pull it off that well, I still enjoy seeing it on others.
Splurge: Michael Kors French-Cuff Poplin Blouse | Michael Kors Marigold Embroidered Tulle Skirt | Michael Kors Leather Loop Hip Belt | Michael Kors Hadden Embellished Flat Sandal
Save: Uniqlo Women’s Oxford Long Sleeve Shirt | Matches Antares Skirt | Lucky Brand Slim Leather Belt | Trotters ‘Mickey’ Wedge Sandal
To copy the look, throw together the combo of a classic light blue oxford with a punchy, yellow floral skirt. It was hard to find one that looked exactly like the expensive Michael Kors version, but this Matches one is a more modern version. Then add in neutral accessories, like a tan belt and sandals, to pull the look together. $5,921 or $301 for this perfect spring outfit? I think the latter.
That MK skirt is really pretty.
Definitely save, except for maybe the skirt – the MK one is so pretty!!
Ooh I love the masculine/feminine mix of this outfit!
