What’s In My Purse Lately
The other day I did a purse clean-out. My arm was aching from carrying too much around in my go-to work bag (I blame it on the umbrella and magazine combo I had in there) so something needed to be done. After throwing away an enormous amount of unnecessary receipts and gum wrappers, I whittled it down to just the necessities that I picked up at a recent trip to Target. Although sometimes having a heavy bag helps as a commuter (to “accidentally” hit difficult people with), I can’t deal with carrying much more than a couple of pounds. Let’s be honest here — I’m frail.
Ray-Ban New Small Wayfarer Sunglasses– These are my go-to pair of sunglasses. My eyes are super squinty (I squint constantly. And no, I don’t need glasses. I’m just super sensitive to Mr. Sun) so having these with me at all times is crucial. I’ve managed to not lose them over the course of a few years, so I’m pretty proud of myself. #patontheback
Kate Spade Via Limoni Coin Purse– When I got the 40% off email from Kate Spade a few months back, I immediately ordered this little guy. If you know me/read this blog, you know I love lemons. So this one was a no-brainer. It’s the perfect size for coins (but who carries around coins?) and other little necessities, like a Tampax Pocket Pearl.
Tampax Pocket Pearl– Nothing’s worse than having to try to conceal your tampon as you head to the restroom (except maybe having your purse topple over and a bunch of them falling out). So I seamlessly fit mine into my Kate Spade coin purse — the tiny, pocket-size of the Pocket Pearl fits perfectly, and I don’t have to worry about tampons spilling out everywhere.
My Work ID– I have an awesome job and this is my work badge that I use to get access into my office. Exciting stuff, I know.
Aquaphor Skin Protectant Healing Ointment– Aquphor is my holy-grail beauty and skincare product. If I was on a desert island and could only take one thing, it would probably be this. It heals everything — chapped lips, cuticles, dry feet, you name it. I carry a small tube around in my purse, but have huge jars of it at home.
Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream- When I’m at Target and I go near the Burt’s Bees section, I freeze. So. Many. Options. Much like the product mentioned above, this cuticle cream does way more than help fix my ragged cuticles. I also sometimes use it as a perfume (it’s a waxy consistency, much like a solid perfume) on my inner wrists or to rub on any dry spots on my skin. The scent is amazing, too!
