January Beauty Favorites
It’s been a few months since I’ve done a beauty/hair product roundup, which means there’s a huge backlog of products to write about. Between products I buy for myself, samples I get from Sephora, and products I’m sent to review, there’s not much room on my vanity or bathroom sink for anything new. James told me that he doesn’t know anyone who has as much makeup/beauty/hair products as me. Which is hilarious because I pale in comparison to some of you beauty bloggers.
bliss Triple Oxygen Energizing Vitamin C Day Cream
I’ve never been to a bliss spa (in fact, I’ve never even been to any type of spa in my entire life other than during a bachelorette party last year), but I’ve heard great things about their line of products. This day cream has a grapefruit scent and a cooling effect, which instantly wakes me up and energizes me (or at least tricks my brain into feeling more energized). I’ve been using it for over a week now and love how easy my makeup goes on after applying it and letting it sink in for a few minutes.
Matrix Biolage Fiberstrong Intra-Cylane Fortifying Cream
I recently chopped my hair. And by “chopped” I mean cut 2 inches off. To me, that’s a “chop”. My ends were starting to get a bit split and brushing my hair became a hassle. That’s how I know it’s time for a trim. Now that my ends are fresh, I want to do my best to keep them protected and healthy, which is where this product comes in. I apply it right after towel-drying my hair (so it’s still damp, but not dripping) to the last four or five inches of my hair. I love the consistency of this product — it’s not too thick or too thin, like similar products.
GlamGlow Supercleanse™ Daily Clearing Cleanser
GlamGlow products get great reviews, but tend to be a bit pricey for me personally. With that being said, I do think it’s worth the occasional splurge. This daily cleanser goes on black and then dissolves as you mix it with water. It sounds corny, but I could almost feel it working on my face and clearing out my pores. It’s also fun to smear all over your face and then scare your cat with.
Dior Diorskin Nude Air Serum SPF 20
I feel so fancy saying I use a Dior product, I mean it doesn’t get more high-end than that. I tried out a few samples of their Nude Air Serum and fell in love. A whole bottle will cost you $53 (yikes!), but it did make my skin look and feel amazing. It’s very lightweight, but still covers any imperfections or discoloration. You can’t feel it on your skin, which is something I love about foundation. I really loved this, but would probably only actually purchase it with a gift card or receive it as a gift (I’m probably a shade Ivory. Just saying).
Estée Lauder Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Makeup
This foundation is another favorite. It’s a serum-like foundation, which goes on thinner and easier than traditional foundations, but still gives your skin an even and adequate coating of color. I loved that it didn’t settle into any lines in my face. It pains me to admit I have lines on my face, but thankfully they’re just forehead lines from smiling/frowning and not crows feet or anything. Yet….
Olay Fresh Outlast Body Wash Cooling White Strawberry & Mint
I tend to stick to good ol’ Dove soap when it comes to cleaning myself in the shower, but from time-to-time I like to mix it up with a body wash. This Olay version smells amazing — the strawberry scent is much more strong than the mint, but it’s a perfect balance. I noticed that a little goes a long way, too, so this drugstore buy is really a bang for your buck.
I love the strawberry Olay Fresh body wash!
I am looking for a new foundation, thank you!
I always love reading these! Thanks so much for sharing!
