Have you ever watched a Youtube makeup tutorial and thought to yourself, “Wow, how does she do that?” If so, you’re not alone. While I’ll pat myself on the back for some of my own makeup skills, I’m always amazed at how these makeup artists/15-year-old Youtube stars can use products so well and create these masterpieces. (Yes, the perfect smokey eye is considered a masterpiece to some of us.) Luckily, for the rest of us, beauty brands are creating products to make our lives much easier. Here are a few of what I’m calling “idiot-proof beauty products” for you to try out.
Get three different shades of color deposited to your cheeks in just the right places with one swipe — it doesn’t get much easier than that! This product comes in two different shades- one that is more for blush colors and another that is bronzer colors. So instead of lugging around a blush, highlighter, contour, and a brush to apply each, you can just carry around this one stick — and then blend with your fingers.
I’ve seen some YouTube tutorials on women’s brow routines that go over 10 minutes. Uhhh who has the time to spent that much time on their eyebrows? Not me. With this fiber gel, you just swipe it on (sparingly) over your brows to give them a fuller look. Much easier than the eight-step process some women partake in each day.
I’m known for being terrible at painting my fingernails. I can do a decent job on my toes, but my fingers are another story. So for those of us who can’t paint within the lines (I blame my tiny fingers for this one), this spray-on formula is amazing. Just spray your nails (obviously it will get on your fingers and cuticles), let dry, and then wipe off the excess. I really hope these products start catching on!
If you tend to favor using powder products instead of creams, then this is for you. The palette itself shows you which spots on the face to apply each shade, so it’s really hard to mess this one up.
People who can put on false eyelashes without a problem amaze me. They make it look so easy. Then I’m trying and I end up with glue all over my fingers and a frustrated look on my face. These lashes are pre-glued, which means you don’t have to deal with any of that mess. Just remove from the package and press on to your natural lashline.
If you’re clueless about which products to put on your face (or the order of them, which has been highly debated), then this product is for you. It’s a concealer and foundation in one. The unique applicator allows you to dot on concealer for small blemishes and swipe on foundation for larger areas of your face.
I love this product! When I contour, sometimes it’s hard to get a precise line for smaller areas since brushes are often too large. This stick makes it easy — just draw lines on your face where you want to contour and highlight and then blend.
This liner is ergonomically designed to make applying liner easy. The “grip zone” of the product gives your hands and fingers a good grasp to apply a nice, even line of product.
