Fall Floral Dress

Fall is a tricky season to dress for. Since it turned fall officially here in NJ/NYC, I’ve worn both my winter coat and my summer sandals. But global warming isn’t real, right? rolls eyes

It’s even tougher to dress for when you’re going to be inside and not sure if the heat will be turned on or if the place you’re visiting still has the AC blasting. Do I wear a sweater dress with tights and sweat my ass off? Or do I wear a short-sleeve dress and have goosebumps the entire time? I’d ideally be somewhere in-between — a comfortable medium, dare I say.

This is why for a recent bridal shower I opted for a long-sleeve dress made of thin fabric and kept my legs bare. Some pantyhose probably would’ve covered up the fact that I’m white as a ghost… lessons learned.

When I spotted this Amanda Uprichard floral dress I knew it was perfect for fall. The floral pattern isn’t summery like most floral prints, and the colors were gorgeous — deep burgundy, navy, eggplant, and a hint of white. I paired the dress with white earrings to lighten things up, and a pair of simple black block heels. You know your dress is a hit when you get more than one compliment on it during the event. (At least that’s how I grade my fashion choices.)

For those interested in sizing, I ordered an XS and it fit nicely. The sleeves were a tiny bit tight, but that’s really it. Since it’s a shirt-dress, the fit is supposed to be looser, which I liked (gotta hide the #foodbaby after eating all the yummy Italian food at the bridal shower). I’ll definitely be checking out more Amanda Uprichard dresses in the future based off of how much I liked this dress.
