My Quarantine Skincare Routine & Products

quarantine skincare routine

Quarantine has changed a lot of my daily habits – both good and bad. I’ve been saving 2 hours a day that I would normally be commuting, which is great. I’ve been wearing loose tees and sweatpants, which is perfect since the baby weight still hasn’t disappeared. One thing I’ve noticed as a positive of quarantine is that I’m more diligent about my skincare routine. I’m not quite sure why – you’d think now would be the time people’s skin would be freaking out due to stress, but mine has been a little better than normal. One obvious reason could be that I’m wearing less makeup (thank God my company doesn’t require our video to be on for all calls, only important ones).

Whether it’s due to the new products I’m trying out, my post-baby hormones, or just a twinge of luck, here are the products I’ve been using and loving during quarantine.

Morning Routine

L’Oréal Revitalift Derm Intensives Hyaluronic Acid Serum

I alternate using this and the Vitamin C serum below each morning. So, for example, 3 days a week I’ll use Vitamin C and the other 4 I’ll use the hyaluronic acid serum. This plumps up my skin and makes my makeup glide on easily (on the days when I’m wearing any foundation).

L’Oréal Revitalift Derm Intensives Vitamin C Serum

As mentioned above, I can’t wear Vitamin C serum everyday as it irritates my skin, so I alternate this with the hyaluronic acid. A tiny pea size drop of this goes a long way. I noticed a slight change in my fine lines (mainly my forehead and crow’s feet) when using this consistently for a month+.

KORRES Pomegranate Pore Blurring Gel Moisturizer

My last step is so slather on a moisturizer. I’ve been using this one and like it. My pores are very noticeable (it used to be my biggest skin concern before I started to get old and get wrinkles) so this helps making them a tad less noticeable.

Nighttime Routine

Pond’s Cleansing Balm Makeup Remover Cleansing Balm

First, I take off my makeup (if I wore any that day – which is about 2/7 days a week during quarantine) with this cleansing balm. I’ve tried a few cleansing balms and only found a handful I really like that actually work and don’t leave me feeling like a greaseball. So far, I really like this one!

CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser

If I wore makeup during the day, I’ll use this as night after using the makeup remover cleansing balm to do a “double cleanse”. If I didn’t wear makeup during the day, I’ll typically use this in the morning when I shower to cleanse my face. I love CeraVe products – they are dermatologist approved and very safe for all skin types.

Pixi Glow Tonic

I take a cotton pad and put on a few drops of this tonic and wipe my face with it, paying close attention to my T-zone. A lot of people love and use this product, but if you’re new to it, it’s basically 5% Glycolic Acid. It works to exfoliates and brighten skin, without being too harsh like most toners.

OLEHENRIKSEN Sheer Transformation® Perfecting Moisturizer

My last step in the bathroom is applying this moisturizer. I like it because it’s simple – there’s no crazy scents and it goes on nice and light. It also absorbs quickly so I can lay down and not get it all over my pillow (isn’t that the worst?)

belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb

A jar of this lasts a longggg time – I’ve had mine forever. This product is super lightweight (are you sending a theme here with me liking lightweight products?) and boats “26-hoursof moisture”. I used this throughout the summer and it was great, so I’m testing out if it will hold up well during colder months as we head into fall/winter.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

I keep a jar of this in my nightstand so I can apply once I lay down and scroll through Twitter. I have the Berry (Original) flavor/scent right now and plan on trying out the other flavors once this one runs out. This product is truly amazing, and rivals my all-time favorite Aquaphor. I wake up with soft lips magically! And it tastes and smells like berry candy so that doesn’t hurt, either.
