Things to Do in Wildwood, NJ
There are so many more things to do in Wildwood other than the beach (although don’t get me wrong — the beach is a huge draw to the area). From the boardwalk and scenic landmarks to mini golf and aquariums, here is a list of things to do in Wildwood, NJ (including kid-friendly options).
Wildwood Crest Beach
While the Jersey Shore beaches aren’t the same caliber as those in California, the Wildwood Crest Beach in particular is very clean and nice in the areas near our condo where we stay. Certain parts of the beach have amenities like locker rentals and snack shacks.
Sunset Lake
Sunset Lake Bayfront Park (also sometimes known as Turtle Gut Park & Memorial) is a park overlooking a lake. It’s a great place to sit and take in the scenery, take photos, go kayaking, walk your dog, and — hence the name — watch the sunset. We usually take a stroll after dinner one night to watch the sunset and digest the huge meal we just ate. It’s located on New Jersey Avenue from Rambler Road to Monterey Avenue.
Wildwood Boardwalk
The Wildwood boardwalk is 2 miles of fun, including numerous arcades, an aquarium, 3 piers of rides, a Boardwalk Mall, and multiple waterparks. We like going at night when all the rides are lit up, but it’s fun any time of the day. If you’re looking for a souvenir or branded item of clothing, there are hundreds of stores to choose from (literally). There are so many places to eat along the boardwalk too, including novelty favorites like fried dough, fried oreos, basically anything fried.
Seaport Aquarium
The Seaport Aquarium, located on the boardwalk, is a fun way to kill an hour with kids (or just adults, honestly) on a rainy or cloudy day. It has hundreds of fish and sharks, snakes, marmoset monkeys, moray eels, alligators and an interactive touch pool.
Other Things to Do in Wildwood, NJ
- Mini golfing. There are plenty of mini golf places within a 10-mile radius. The one I remember from a few years ago was Island Miniature Golf.
- Breweries and wineries. There are multiple breweries and wineries in the area that offer tours, tastings, and more.
- Go parasailing. Parasailing allows you to experience the thrills of an offshore powerboat ride, parachuting, ballooning and gliding all in one “action packed adventure”.
The boardwalk sounds fun! The pictures of you and your family, especially your little one, are sweet!
