Trend: Pearl Embellished Shoes

One trend I’ve been seeing everywhere in footwear lately is pearl embellishment. While you may just think of pearl heels as something to wear on your wedding day, you’ll see the latest styles span to casual sandals or summery wedges, too. They are a great way to add a touch of femininity to any outfit and make a nice alternative to your favorite pearl necklace or pair of earrings.

While the options I chose below tend to fall in the neutral, white, and nude category, you can also find options in black and other colors, too. I’ve even seen pearl embellished sneakers and slip-ons if you’re not fond of “showing toe”. Did I just make that phrase up?

How to Style Pearl Embellished Shoes

Whether you’re wearing pearl wedges, heels, or sandals, there are multiple ways to style them. And while there are no hard-and-fast “rules” per se, it’s always helpful to see how others style them for inspiration. Here are a few ways to wear the pearl embellishment trend via your footwear.

  • Pair with something polka dot. I like being matchy-matchy sometimes, so pairing a round pattern (polka dots) with the round embellishment (peals) looks nice to me.
  • Wear them with cropped or ankle length pants. The extra few inches of bare legs draws attention to the pearl shoes you’re wearing, making them the star of the show!
  • Try a pop of color. Like I mentioned above, I chose mostly neutral options in my round-up, but you’ll see a colored option (red) above. Pearls are neutral so they pair well with pretty much any color.
  • Go all white. There’s a reason you see pearl embellishments on a lot of bridal looks — whether it’s on a dress, shoes, or a piece of jewelry. The all-white look is classic when paired with something embellished with pearls, and shoes are no exception here.
