The Spring & Summer Dress from Anthropologie You’ll Be Seeing Everywhere

Anthropologie Somerset Maxi Dress

I’m the type of person who buys the same item in 4 colors/patterns if it fits me well and looks good on me. It’s my fashion secret-weapon if you will. Stores also discontinue items often or only offer them one season, so if you don’t snatch it up in multiple colors immediately, you’ll never be able to find it again.

One of those items I’m talking about is the Anthropologie Somerset Maxi Dress. This short-sleeve maxi dress comes in standard, petite, and plus, so it will fit just about anyone. Other universally-flattering details include a smocked waist V-neck. Made from cotton, this summer dress from Anthropologie is super breathable for warmer seasons.

Additionally, it comes in 8 colors/patterns in various shades (including a classic black and white if you’re not a pattern girl). It can easily be dressed up or down based on where you’re going, too — pair with sandals for a beach dinner or jewelry and heels when attending a summer wedding or shower.

How to Style the Anthropologie Somerset Maxi Dress

Here are a few ways you can style this maxi dress depending on where you’re doing, the weather, and the dress code.

  • Add neutral accessories, like braided sandals and a stack of bangles. Merrick looks lovely in this blue and white floral version of the dress, and keeps things simple and class with a pair of heels and some jewelry.
  • Belt it! Adding a belt to the flowy, loose shape of this dress cinches your waist and creates curves. Lisa also threw on a straw hat for added style, but kept the color scheme on target.
  • Go crazy with color. Katie chose the bright green and yellow patterned version of the dress, but didn’t stop there. She paired it with coral slide heels — and it works!
  • Show off your baby bump. The dress is flowy enough that you can easily wear it with a baby bump (especially first and second trimester), as you see on Brittany above. She chose neutral heels but a bright bag for her accessories.

  1. You’re so right- this dress is such a summer stunner! And even though it’s the same dress, it has a totally different feel/vibe depending on the print you choose. What a great piece!

I’m really digging the pale pink print and the black and white print version- so chic!
